Hanborough and Freeland Explorer Scouts selected for World Scout Jamboree in South Korea

In Summer 2023, more than 40,000 Scouts from all over the world will gather in Korea for the 25th World Scout Jamboree. The World Scout Jamboree (WSJ) is a World Organization of the Scout Movement event; it happens every four years, each time hosted by a different country.

We are delighted that Will and Beth, both from the Hanborough and Freeland Explorer Scouts group, were selected, along with 34 others from 180 applicants in Oxfordshire, to go to South Korea. The selection process included written applications and a weekend of team building activities, where they were rigorously assessed for their suitability.

Will and Beth will need to raise a minimum of £3,000 each towards this event. Please look out for the local events and activities to help support these young people on this amazing adventure!

Put your phone down and what are you left with? Just teamwork, courage and the skills to succeed.’
