Welcome to 1st Hanborough

The 1st Hanborough Freeland Scout Group was formed in March 1986.

Prior to this Cubs had met at the Manor School, Long Hanborough, the pack being part of the Eynsham Scout Group, at that time called West Evenlode.

There were no Beavers or Scouts in Long Hanborough or Freeland in 1986 and too many boys on the waiting list for West Evenlode to support, so the 1st Hanborough Freeland Scout Group was formed.

We do have documentary evidence of a Scout Troop in Long Hanborough during the 1940s and 50s and there being a scout hut in the village, this was possible knocked down in the 1960s to make way for new housing
